MONEY ROD @MoneyRod305 - PLAIN JANE

Rodney Mcclain aka Money Rod was born 3/31/89 in Miami Fl. Growing up on the tough streets of North Miami, Rod has always known the street life, coming from a broken home with a single mother, and father in prison. Rod always knew he wanted more than what he was exposed to and felt that there was a bigger purpose for him then the typical norm. At the age of 7, Rod was in the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church choir, which was forced on him by a loving mother that was trying to avoid him growing up like most of the misled youth. This was his first taste of the music game which he has now grown to love.
Being from North Miami and growing up around hustlers and thugs, Rod did get himself into the street lifestyle. This is where he developed his own style and direction. His first influences were artists like the Hot Boys, Trick Daddy, 2pac and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. Rod started out doing mixtapes and trying to make a name for himself in the streets, which only got him so far. So he decided to put all his time, money, and effort into trying to release a full fledged album, which led him to Hugo Diaz, a producer that has 15 gold records and who has also been on 5 platinum albums. This is where Money Rod found his signature style. Working with Hugo, they tapped into more of a creative side of Money Rod, trying to make music for the masses with a very rhythmic feel and Rod’s rapping style.
