R.I.D. - Parallel Universe

R.I.D. is a hip-hop artist born in Kansas and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. He is currently living in Darmstadt, Germany.

In his younger years, R.I.D. was the lead singer in a very bad rock band in the 90’s. Hip Hop come into his life two years ago (at the age of 52) as he became a role in a feature film where his character was a hip-hop artist. As he dove deep into learning everything, he could to help him build a realistic character, he fell in love with hip-hop music it’s history.
A few months later, he had written his first album titled, “Nati, Nati” and immediately started recording the album. 

After recording the first five songs he started to prepare for upcoming music video shoots before he finished recording the rest of the Album.
Then the Coronavirus and COVID-19 took over the world and everything was put on hold. Suffering from a preexisting lung condition, Pulmonary Sarcoidosis, he went into self-quarantine. His situation hit him hard. His emotions overflowed for those out there helping to keep the world going while the rest stay home.

Since he had all the necessary tools at home, He decided to record a four song EP about the current situation. His first single “Hero” was released on April 10, 2020. The song is dedicated to all the Nurses, Doctors, Healthcare Workers, Cashiers and all the others keeping the world going. His second release “Parallel Universe” is scheduled for release on YouTube and radio on April 21, 2020, followed by all streaming platforms on May 8, 2020.

R.I.D. is a new artist working with Multi-Platinum Producer, Freek Van Workum (21 Savage, Tech N9ne, Capital Bra, Bausa, Kalash). He is currently releasing new music every two to four weeks.

His music is very original while staying true to all origins of Hip Hop, old, new. His main influences are so many, from Notorious B.I.G., Tupac, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Grandmaster Funk, Public Enemy, Beasty Boys, Jay-Z, Future, Young Thug, Puff Daddy and the list goes on and on, my pallet is wide and has no limits when it comes to the forefathers of Hip Hop.
