Blakk Amerika From Prophets to Pimps Stage Play is the first stage play produced By Israylite Heritage Productions. It's written and Directed by Obadiyah Ysrayl. We debuted on May 2nd 2015 in Chicago Il at the Dusable Museum of African American history to overwhelming postive reviews
From Prophets to Pimps covers over 4000 years of black history beginning with the ancient past, and ending with our present state of life.
This two hour ground breaking stage play is based off the Israylite Heritage Documentary "The Curses". With all the recent news about police brutality, discrimination, and overall violence aimed at African Americans, along with the recent controversy over the production of the biblical theme movie EXODUS GODS AND KINGS, and GODS OF EGYPT. This production hopes to shed some light on it ALL. How did we go from being a people of esteem (prophets) to being a people of shame (pimps).
The play will focus on the past 395 year experience African Americans have had in the United States, from the year 1619 – 2015.
The entire production will consist of six acts.
The first act takes place in biblical times.
Act two deals with the era of slavery in the United States. (1619-1865)
Act three takes place in the civil rights era (1955 – 1968)
Act four cover the years after the civil rights era the 1970’s till the 90’s
Act five take place in the 2000’s
Act six is the summation of the play and connects the dots.

Come out to witness this ground breaking stage play for a night of Truth, poetry, Song, tears, laughter and answers to Questions that have gone unanswered for hundreds of years.
