Papi Sensei - Double Cup
Chattanooga, Tennessee is home to talented Hip-Hop artist, Papi Sensei. After being adopted by his aunt at a young age, he started off in his path to a music career by writing original poems and short stories. Growing up, Papi Sensei often hung around his cousin who had his own music group, in which the artist really enjoyed. Though his goal may have been to learn some in’s and out’s of performing, his innate rhyming and writing abilities caught the attention of the group. This moment is significant, as it serves as the time when Papi Sensei fell in love with the art of rapping. “I fell in love with it,” said the artist. “Just hearing myself, and the things that I could create and say… my imagination was big.”
When asked about his sound and style, the artist responds: “You really never know what you’re going to get, but you know it’s gonna be organic.” A truly versatile artist, Papi Sensei stays true to himself in a way that is incomparable to other artists.
