Yung Martez was born in Shreveport,  Louisiana, but raised in the streets of 5th Ward, Texas. Coming from a rough upbringing Martez channeledthat energy to create music. Yung Martez  originally started out in a group called  MPS which made hits such as, “Dats  My Lil’ Dip” & “No Man Needed.”  Martez has since begun working on his  solo project “A Ghetto Genius,” and  released his first single “When I Call, featuring Propain & Shun Ward” which has gotten spins on major stations in  the Southern region, featured on MTV Jams, interviews with  national media outlets “Hip Hop Weekly” and can be seen on World Star Hip Hop.

Yung Martez’s notoriety in the south  has positioned him for success. After  releasing the single “When I Call,” Martez was named as brand ambassador for celebrity jeweler King  Johnny. His jewelry has been seen on  many celebrities such as Bun B, Boosie, Trinidad James and Plies just to  name a few.
